Albrechtice lies on the upland known as Těšínská plošina, about 8 km south of Karviná. The first written mention of the municipality dates to 1447.

The wooden Baroque Church of St Peter and Paul, dating from 1766, stands by the cemetery and belongs to the municipality, which also uses it for cultural events. The newer brick-built Church of St Peter and Paul was constructed between 1935 and 1938. The Evangelical Church of the Silesian Evangelical Church was consecrated in 1948, and a cemetery with a chapel dating from 1910 lies beside it.
