Flower Delivery in Karviná from a Florist in Havířov

Karviná lies on the Olše River near the Polish border, about 18 km east of Ostrava. It had 50,666 inhabitants on 1 January 2026.

Present-day Karviná was formed on 1 January 1949 by the merger of Fryštát with surrounding municipalities, and historic Fryštát has been an urban heritage zone since 1992. Founded by the Teschen Piasts, the Empire-style Fryštát Chateau has been open to the public since 1997 following restoration. The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross near the chateau is the oldest architectural monument in Karviná; its first written mention dates from 1376. On 18 June 2025, the government approved spa-town status for Karviná in recognition of Darkov’s spa tradition and its iodine-bromine brine.
